So Sunday was bloody hot, but a whole day free to work on the bike.

I took the engine out the other day and popped it on the work bench to check the engine cover gaskets, I think they are sorted now.
I've been searching for a new engine but as the search has not come up with any thing for the time being we will carry on working with the CB engine.

Popped the engine back in and made up a couple of new rear engine mounts to hold her steady

Carbs are in a bad way so I started to give then a clean and then a soak in some vinegar which as you can imagine made every thing smell like a local chippy. the jets were blocked and I think that must be the only thing stopping her fire as I've checked every thing millions of time. fingers crossed.

Whilst the carbs are soaking I took of the back wheel to drill in to the frame to make up some mounts for the electrics box. broke a couple of drill bits, swore alot. finally got the holes in and also tided up the mud guard bolts

Back to the engine, Carbs are in place all looking clean. jets unblocked.
Checked she is sparking (hope I plugged in the coils the right way round) I have no petrol left and the sun has killed me so I'm calling it a day for now. next stop petrol station and see if she fires up.

Starting problems

So we managed to get the nuts undone to adjust the timing and the timing was all set up. Unfortunately the bike still wouldn't start, Grrr so frustrating. And to make matters worse she now has no spark. So I left her alone for a while. Had another look today and the was an issue with the earth, so I've sorted that out and its now earthed properly and she sparks like a dream. Took off the carbs and it would seem that no fuel has been flowing through in to the engine, Dry plugs and dry inlet manifolds.
I found an old two in to one manifold and will try and get things rolling with the one carb for now.
luckily it fits just needs a spacer making up.
I'm gonna get on line and try and find a replacement carb on the cheap and try it again.

So its still raining, its rained and rained and rained. I hate the rain, I also hate the hole in the shed roof.

Any ways I decided it was time to fire the bike up, so got some fresh fuel, got some oil, had a smile on my face and tried to kick her over; no joy, try again, no joy try again. then fuels starts coming out the carb! fuck!
I take the carb off, strip it, all is fine put it back together and do the same with the other. no leeks SWEET!! try to kick her over again, no joy, no joy, no joy. BOLLOCKS!!
Not such a lovely smile now.
I'm wet the bike won't start I go in doors to cry my self to sleep, only sleep wont come cos the bike wont start.
One thing for it. call my dad, I feel like a little kid, he comes over, the heavens open we don't go in the shed. So I tried again today, still nothing. why o why. shes getting fuel, theres good spark, timing is ok.what am I missing? HELP ME WORLD.
